Meadows City Tennis Club was founded in 2003 as part of the LTA’s City Tennis Club initiative, created to encourage club-level tennis on public courts. Since then, the club has continued to thrive, with steady growth in membership and an expanding programme of tennis and social activities.
In 2014, six courts were upgraded with floodlighting and the Meadows tennis pavilion and café underwent a full refurbishment. These improvements greatly enhanced the facilities available both to the club and to all court users. In 2025, all 16 courts were completely resurfaced, thanks to the support and investment of the LTA, SportScotland and Edinburgh Leisure.
The club now boasts an exceptionally international membership, representing a wide range of nationalities from across the globe.
